Question 1: How many Macy’s Storage Module will I need?
On average you will need 1 Macy’s Storage Module for every room of furniture you would like to store refer to our space calculator here. If in doubt as to how many Macy’s Storage Module you will need, you can always get an extra Module rather than not enough we won’t charge you for delivery of a Macy’s Storage Module unless you use it, or give us a call us and one of our customer service representatives can help you calculate how many Macy’s Modules you will need. If you have goods that will not the fit in a module please speak to our friendly customer agents and they can arrange for storage of oversized items in our warehouse racking.
Question 2: How much does a Macy’s Storage Module cost?
You only pay for the modules you use. Check Macy’s Module Rates. Our Rates are always competitive and if you find a more competitive rate let us know. Question 3: What about storage insurance while my Items are at Macy’s Storage facility?
We have our insurances in place in case we are proven to be at fault.However, it is your responsibility to arrange insurance for your goods whilst in our care. We can arrange all the insurances you need whilst the goods are in our care as Macy’s Mobile Storage is an authorised representative of Aldridge & Street, a division of Cowden (VIC) Pty Ltd (Australian Financial Services license 245658) a licensed insurance broker.
Question 4: What is mobile self-storage and why is it better than traditional self-storage?
Mobile self-storage, is self-storage deliver to you. It’s Simple the self-storage comes to your door no need to get hold of a truck or trailer then load and unload it. Just load it once at your place and we will take it away and store it at our facility. This process makes it more convenient, time-efficient, and cost-effective than traditional self-storage. Question 5: Is Macy’s mobile self-storage more expensive than traditional self-storage?
No not at all, think of it like this, Macy’s Storage Module is much more convenient and so much less hassle. Macy’s Storage Module removes all the unforeseen costs associated with traditional self-storage such as the hire of a driver with truck, trailer, or ute and other costs such as furniture removalists. Don’t forget that the less time your goods are handled, the less risk there is of an accident or damage.
Also with Macy’s Storage Module’s, you know that you are getting the best storage rates, as you only paying for the space you use.
Question 6: Does Macy’s Storage Module have protective furniture blankets in them when they are delivered?
Yes, all Macy’s Storage Modules come with 5 Heavy Duty Quilted Furniture Blankets to help you protect your items during Storage. Additional blankets can be leased from Macy’s Storage for the duration of storage at $1.00 per blanket per week. This is added to your monthly storage bill. At the end of your storage period, these blankets must be returned. Should you decide to keep some furniture blankets at the end of your storage a fee of $26.00 per blanket will apply.
Question 7: When can I get access to my Macy’s Storage Module?
You can access your Macy’s Storage Module 6 days a week. During the week we are open from 8 AM – 5:30 PM and on Saturday from 9AM – 2PM. Please remember to provide at least 24 hours notice so that we can retrieve your module(s) ready for your inspection. Arranging access is simply call us or click here and complete the access form. If you have a special need to access your goods urgently please contact us on 1300 40 90 69. Unfortunately, Macy’s Self Storage is closed on public holidays and between Christmas and New Year period.
Question 8: Can I just get some of my items out from Macy’s Storage rather than all of them?
Yes, you can. If you have more than one module and you know which module you have loaded your needed items into we can deliver just that one for you to retrieve the items needed. Alternatively, we can return all your modules to you and you can sort through and return the full modules for storage. We will then adjust your storage rates accordingly, based on the number of Macy’s Modules you’re still using.
There is also the option of popping into our facility to sort through things in our secure storage depot.

Question 9: What size is a Macy’s Storage Module?
Macy’s Storage Module is purpose-made for furniture storage. Each Macy’s Storage Module will fit all the items in an average room to a room and a half of household items. Being custom made to store furniture large items such as bulky couches, twin door fridges, and king-size beds.
Large Macy’s Storage Module and it’s BIG – 2.42m deep, 1.52m wide and 2.30m high externally or 2.30m deep, 1.50m wide and 2.16m high internally. Macy’s Storage Module also have a large door 1.20m wide and 2.16m tall for easy access and can hold up to 1 tonne of weight.

Question 10: What is the Macy’s Storage Module made of?
Macy’s Storage Module are custom built to last. Constructed with a thick hardwood and plywood base to structural grade timber and plywood frame walls and roof, our modules are solid and extremely secure. With the added protection of 2 locking points on the door for your own locks. Macy’s Storage Module have been custom built from the ground up. Having a background in the Furniture and removals industry for over 30 years we have learnt the best ways and space required to store your goods. Our Modules of timber construction allows your items to breathe naturally and minimizes the risk of sweating which is much better than steel and plastic containers, reducing the chance for mould and mildew.
The global moving industry has been moving your belongings in boxes like these for the last 75 years so we know the system is reliable and works.
Question 11: Is a Macy’s Storage Module weather resistant?
Yes – your Macy’s Storage Module is covered with a highly durable, weather-resistant cover when at your place or on its way in or out of our facility. Macy’s Storage Module is on a hardwood pallet base so it’s off the ground, ensuring that your belongings are safe and dry should there be bad weather or rain while your Macy’s Storage Module is at your place being loaded or unloaded.
Question 12: Is my Macy’s Storage Module secure while at my place?
Yes – there are 2 locking points on all doors of our Macy’s Storage Module and you will have your own locks to lock it up when your goods are in it whether, at your place or ours, you’ll hold the keys to these locks at all times. Macy’s Storage Module staff and employees do not want any access to your module while your goods are being stored, only you will have the access to those locks. At our Storage Facility, we have industry-standard security and fire systems to monitor your modules whilst in our care. As part of our association standards, we also undertake annual fire audits and conduct quarterly pest and rodent control inspections.
Question 13: How much time do I have to load/unload my Macy’s Storage Module?
We won’t set a time limit on how long it takes you to load or unload your Macy’s Storage Module. Simply give us a call when you’re ready and we will collect your Macy’s module and return it to our storage depot. The only time limits will be set by you as you can even pre-schedule drop-off or collection if that works best for you.

Question 14: What happens if I don’t get my Macy’s Storage Module packed in time?
It’s Simple give us a call and we will simply reschedule your collection. We’ll work through the new dates with you and providing our operations have the ability we will lock in your new preferred time and date. With giving us as much notice as you can we will do our best to make this work smoothly for you. Our Terms and Conditions and Applicable Fees for an explanation of when these charges apply which are outlined in your contract.
Question 15: Can I bring my items to or collect items from my Macy’s Storage Module at your depot facility and load it into or out of a Macy’s Storage Module?
Of course you can – feel free to bring your items to our facility or come collect a few things or all your goods from your Macy’s Module.
Just book an access time with our team online or our contact page or by calling us on 1300 40 90 69 and well make sure it’s all ready for you. Fees apply up to $66 for 1 Macy’s module or even less depending on how many Macy’s Modules you have or how long there’ve been in storage with us. Make sure you ask when booking it in as an access fee will appear on your next monthly account.
Question 16: Can I empty my Macy’s Storage Module at the Macy’s Storage depot facility and will a re-delivery fee still apply?
Permanent retrieval fees apply to all Macy’s Storage Module that has been stored with us, a retrieval fee may be payable at the end of your storage term if you would like to collect all your goods from our facility from your Macy’s Storage Module. Permanent retrieval fees apply up to $66 for 1 Macy’s module or even less depending on how many Macy’s Modules you have, how long there’ve been in storage with us and the original collection location. Our fees are discounted from the standard re-delivery fee and covers and the work our store-man has to do to get your Macy’s Modules ready for you to collect.

Should you be arranging for a third party to collect your goods on your behalf you will need to complete a consent to release to third party form. Please contact us for this form
Question 17: When and where will my Macy’s Storage Module be delivered?
Once you’re all booked in, we will deliver and place your Macy’s Storage Module on the required date as per your instructions at the address nominated by you. It is your responsibility to provide a location that is safe, can’t cause injury or block access to third parties and it is legal to place the module in that space. Remember you have to load and unload your Macy’s Module so consider that when looking at a location to place the module. For a guide, each module takes up a similar space as to a small car and we need to be able to use our forklift to place it there or park our mobile trailers. The best places to consider are the driveway or equivalent off-street parking or hold a spot or two on the street out the front of your place and we will place the Macy’s Module in those spots on the street for you to load or unload. In the event that a fine is incurred as a result of the location, you provide for us to place the module you are responsible to pay the fine.
Question 18: Where can I Put my Macy’s Storage Module at my place?
Wherever possible we try to place a Macy’s Module on level, solid ground, with room for you to move your belongings around the area. A Macy’s Storage Module takes up an area of 2.5m deep and 1.6m wide, so consider that space when picking your place for us to put your Module. We also have to get in and out with our vehicle to put it where you want. Allowing a little more space makes it easier for you to load or unload.
We wouldn’t want you to injure yourself or damage anything or anyone whilst you are moving your items in or around the work area.
Question 19: Can I put my Macy’s Storage Module on the street while it is at my place?
Yes, you can, providing it is legal to park on the street outside your place and the parking doesn’t have restrictions at any hour of the day. That is it doesn’t become a clearway, bus zone, no stopping, etc. if this occurs have a chat with one of our consultants on 1300 40 90 69 and we will assist with a solution to your specific needs and situation.
Question 20: How do I keep my belongings from moving around in my Macy’s Storage Module during transit?
Your Macy’s Storage Module always remains upright and flat it’s never tilted whilst were loading or unloading the module on and off our vehicles. To avoid damage to items during storage and transportation, place heavy and solid items on the bottom of each Macy’s Storage Module and lighter items that may crush on the top. Keep everything square and firmly loaded in your Macy’s Module. If you don’t completely fill the Macy’s Module with your items make sure you fill all the floor space of the module and things won’t fall forward or down during transportation.
Fill in as much empty space as you can, use empty moving boxes to fill in space. This helps tighten up the load ensuring things won’t move around.By using proper packing supplies, including correctly sized boxes than won’t crush or tare, bubble wrap on fragile items and moving blankets on the furniture items this will prevent rubbing or scratching. Question 21: How do I pay my monthly storage bill with Macy’s Storage?
At Macy’s Mobile Self Storage we have a secure automatic payment system set up through which you can pay by credit card, direct debit or Paypal.
Other payment methods include: direct transfer, cheque or account if approved. When you order your Macy’s Module you will be charge the first month’s rent and packing supplies if you have purchased any from our store. On the 15th day each month thereafter, we will charge you the monthly rent. For more details about our billing click here.
Question 22: Is my deposit refundable?
Sure we know things can change and we will therefore refund your deposit, provided you notify us of your decision to change the arrangements or to cancel more than 7 days prior to your scheduled day. We can’t control the weather just like you therefore that can’t excuse you from taking delivery on your scheduled day Click here for further details.
Question 23: Can you dispose of Items I don’t need when Macy’s Storage Module is redelivered?
Yes, we can take items to landfill or recycle for you. This does attract a tipping fee which will be charges onto you and we will need you to complete a consent to dispose form prior to this occurring. Click here for terms and conditions in your storage contract.
Question 24: Can you deliver or redeliver Macy’s Storage Modules to more than one address?
Yes, we can deliver to as many addresses as you require when you’re loading or unloading. We can even arrange items to be send to other states or countries if required. Fees and charges apply for multiple redeliveries or moves between suburbs or states, so give our customer service team a call 1300 40 90 69 and let them work through your situation with you.
Question 25: What happens if I need to leave my items in Macy’s Storage Module for more than the time I initially thought?
We will just keep storing your goods in your Macy’s Storage Module for you until we receive notice to redeliver to close your storage account. So it’s simple just keep paying your monthly storage fees and;
your goods in storage will be safe and sound for as long as you need.
Question 26: Can I get assistance from you with loading my Macy’s Storage Module for me?
We work with any removalist you desire or we can provide load assistance at an additional price. Please note that this is only load assistance not a full removalist service and you are fully responsible for any damages that occur during the packing and unloading of your module. Question 27: Are there any items I cannot store in my Macy’s Storage Module?
Yes, there are things we just can’t store in a Macy’s Storage Module. For hygiene and safety reasons things like the following list must NOT be stored in our facility’s.
- Illegal goods of any sort
- Firearms or ammunition
- Petrol or gas in an engine or equipment either new or used such as a chainsaw, lawn mower, trimmer (we can store the item just empty the fuel tanks)
- Cigarette lighters with blue flame and cigar lighters or ‘Strike anywhere’ matches
- Spillable batteries
- Gas cylinders or cartridges, propane, LPG, BBQ Gas.
- Fire extinguishers
- Aerosol cans and pressure packs
- Explosives such as fireworks, flares, sparklers, party poppers
- Flammable liquids and solids such as paint, lighter fluid, thinners, lacquer, fuels
- Bleaching powders and peroxides
- Poisons such as weed killers, insecticides,
- Pool cleaning products
- Flammable solids such as fire starters, moth balls
- Fibre glass repair kits and resins
- Live animals or plants
- Perishable goods

Question 30: Can I return cartons and moving blankets I have purchased at the end of the service?
Sure we will gladly take unwanted cartons or blankets. As long as they are in good condition and can be reused (not wet, soiled, torn, or damaged).
